The Nails: What I'll be wearing this Christmas...

So, I haven't stuffed the turkey, the bread has yet to be transformed to bread sauce and the roast tatties are far from even being peeled, but what do I care? At least my nails are ready for the big day! After having been sicker-than-sick for a whole week, I've finally mustered up the enthusiasm and strength to give myself a mini-mani and my hands are now ready for the magical day, so I thought I'd share it with you.

This year, I've decided not to go for a red (I know, radical, eh?) and instead, I've gone to the dark side, with an ample sprinkling of glitter thrown in for festive fun.

If you follow me on Instagram (here) then you'll already have seen the beyond-fabulous condition I've managed to get my nails into using De LeWinn's Renunail (read the full review here). Strong, long and healthy, just how I like them!

So this is what's going on: 

Base coat: Seche Base; two coats of Rimmel Wear Maxx in 405 Fantasy; a coat of glitter by Toma in 5th Avenue (review here); and a top coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Top Coat. 

I'm a little love with Rimmel's nail varnishes right now - such good value for the quality and the range of colours. This Fantasy shade is a not really a dupe for my current fave, Taboo by Chanel (review here) - Rimmel's shade has more red in it, less purple than Taboo, but it sure has the same micro shimmer-glitter. (Think Blackheart from Urban Decay's Naked 3 palette in liquid form).
