Ciate Caviar Manicure

Many of the nail effects just pass me by without garnering much excitement, but this one is a little bit special.  The last couple that caught my imagination were the Crocofever Nails and the Magnetic Nail Varnish, but this one takes it a little further and goes into the realms of 3D - although more wearable than some of the trends emerging right now.


Created by Ciate founder Charlotte for a magazine shoot, this is an easy-to-do nail trend that's set to take summer nails by storm.


The set comes in three colour-ways, with a nail colour and a bottle of the caviar glass beads in each and this is how you do it:


After undercoat, apply the first coat of the your chosen colour varnish across both hands.


Next apply a second coat on a fingernail, sprinkle the caviar beads on the nail and repeat on each nail, one nail at a time.

And voila! There you have it, Caviar Manicure made easy.


The sets are Black Pearl (black with black caviar), Mother of Pearl (off-white with white caviar) and Rainbow (baby pink with multicoloured caviar), but you actually can use any shade and brand of varnish you want with your caviar beads.

I opted for a bright bluish-pink called Cupcake Queen with the clear caviar beads, and the multicoloured caviar on the ring fingers.  I loved the Black Pearl combination, and the Mother of Pearl white combo would look AMAZING on a bride.

Don't worry that you'll lose all the beads over your kitchen table, the kit comes with a little plastic tray that you put under your hands/nails when you sprinkle, and a darling little funnel that you use to pour back any unused beads back into the bag.


So easy and so very effective, but a word of warning! Don't wash your hair with your caviar manicure - your hair just gets caught up in the beads and it's really frustrating..... another excuse to get your done at the salon!
