What's Worth the Luggage Space - Part Two

This second little edit of what really got used on holiday is all about the makeup (read the first one here). I don't tend to use too much (read: hardly any) while on holiday but these little beauties, plus two others that didn't make it into the photograph, were really the heros of the fortnight, beauty-wise.

The first one that got away at the photocall, as it were, was the fabulous Smarty Plants SPF20 CC Cream* from Origins, which was on duty whenever I really had to put on a bit of makeup, day or evening. Holidays for me always spell the inclusion of a little something from Estée Lauder's Bronze Goddess collection and evening eyes were just perfect using the Batik Sun* palette. Unusual for me to use all the colours in a palette, so this one gets an A* for performing over and beyond the call of duty. For a little peak at how it translated to a "look", click here. And then, please tell me, who doesn't go away on holiday without a dash of Lauder's Luminous Liquid Bronze*. Shoulders, arms, décolletage, legs, even cheekbones - there was hardly an area that escaped a dousing in this classic vacation must-have. Nothing says holiday skin as beautifully as a luminising golden sparkle on a summer's evening. And nothing accentuates that hard earned tan when you're back home in Blighty than the very same.

By Terry's Baume de Rose is a bit of a no brainer - good for the lips, a delicate pink sheen and SPF 15 to boot - what more can you possibly want from a lip balm? If a little more sparkle was in order, then the ever glorious Lucky Lipgloss by Chantecaille was the perfect addition to summer lips. And for full on va va voom, I called on the spectacular Apocalips in Stellar by Rimmel.

This, and a swipe of the noticeable-by-its-absence d.j.v beautenizer mascara*, the only mascara that made it into the suitcase, added up to easygoing, casual summer beauty.

What were your holiday beauty must-haves?
