The Event: Charlotte Tilbury's House of Rock 'n' Kohl

Most days, I'm either at my desk, tapping away at the computer keys, or racing around London trying to get to press events on time. Last Monday night, however, I was doing neither.  When an invitation such as the one to the launch of make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury's pop-up shop comes along, you make sure you're there with time to spare.

Charlotte Tilbury has been the expert hand behind more magazine covers than you could care to mention. She's made up just about every celebrity and supermodel there is, and her myface cosmetics range (available in Boots and online) takes the guess work out of buying makeup. So it was a dead cert that there would be a fair smattering of celebs to help her launch the pop-up in style. And we weren't disappointed; Mario Testino, Saffron Aldrige, Helena Bonham Carter, Alice Temperley, Katie Grand...the list goes on. And of course, the model herself, Kate Moss.

It was a case of art-meets-beauty, as Charlotte unveiled a new iconic image of British supermodel Kate Moss, created in conjunction with artistic photographer Chris Levine (he who shot the iconic images of the Queen last year to celebrate her Diamond Jubilee), Using the same lenticular technology, shooting a series of 35 images which are then fused together to form an almost 3-d, almost holographic image that is eerily beautiful, calm and serene.  Malcolm Edward gave Kate a classic, yet contemporary hair style while Charlotte's make-up played on the feline flick for which both Charlotte and Kate are famous.

And of course, I couldn't resist taking a piccie or two with the women of the evening!
The week long pop-up event hosted in Selfridges' Wonder Room hosted lip readings, the Kissing Gallery, makeovers, tutorials, panel discussions and guest appearances from the likes of Cara Delavigne, Sali Huges and Lisa Eldrige as they imparted their expertise.

If you're a fan of Charlotte Tilbury, keep your eyes peeled for her new make-up collection launching exclusively in Selfridges in September, and in the meantime, you can get your hands on the limited edition makeup bag here.

ps - This post was scheduled to go up on Tuesday, to allow you time to get down to Selfridges (as if you needed any excuse!) Not sure why it didn't... the wonders of modern technology! So sorry!
