Blurry photos? That'll be the "2am photo shoot" look!!! |
And that was it. Off I went to bed, hoping, waiting, with baited breath, to see if I would wake up with a head full of glorious, bouncy curls, or a head full of frizz. The only thing I had to do was to go to sleep. Which wasn't so easy with Mr Insomnia hanging around. And the new sensation of a head full of sponge wasn't helping much either. While not painful, it was a little uncomfortable; it's not a feeling I was used to and it took a little time to find a position that made it easy to nod off. Happily, Mr Sandman was not far away, and all too soon, the I was rudely awoken by my pesky alarm.
We've all used velcro rollers before, but these were different in so many ways. First off, let's talk colour. Not for any shy retiring types here; a full on bright neon pink that you just can't ignore. Then the sponge. The rollers are designed to be worn overnight, using your body's natural heat to set the curl, so the roller's softness is perfect for sleeping, as it squooshes against the pillow. And finally the velco itself. This is velcro on steroids. Its grips the hair like no other velcro roller I've ever tried. It's like a venus fly trap to the hair.

The morning after.... rollers still firmly in place! |
After letting my hair "cool down" (read: waiting half an hour after getting up), out came the rollers. With a little difficulty, I might add. But at least they hadn't moved overnight!

Rollers extracted, the virgin curl, straight from the roller |

Wow, you hair looks beautiful. Do you put them on dry hair or damp?
ReplyDeleteThey go into dry hair, I used them after rough drying my hair, and was amazed that my hair was smooth and shiny, not frizzy the next morning!

My hair looks amazing when I put these in, I just wish I could actually sleep with them in haha! X
ReplyDeleteI agree, they may not be painful, but they sure are uncomfortable!

Amazing, was very sceptical, as to whether these rollers actually did anything... but they really do work! Great blog!

ReplyDeleteWow, they really do work. Your hair looks lovely. Good to know they didn't move over night- the most annoying thing about sleeping in rollers!

Your hair looks fabulous. I am not sure if I will use this product because curly and wavy hair do not suit my hair at all. I cannot imagine how did the rollers stay in place and how can anyone could sleep through it because it seems uncomfortable to sleep with this. Thanks for the nice review.
