My Style: Tarun Tahiliani...Sari Style

Social engagements have understandably been few and far between of late, so style posts haven't really been much of a priority, as you can imagine. An invitation to a wedding recently was a happy excuse to get a little dressed up in a sari... and you all know how much I LOVE a sari; there's nothing more feminine, elegant and sexy all at the same time.

Tarun Tahiliani saris don't come cheap; this one was my guilty splurge the last time was in India, but buying it was a no-brainer. There will always be those occasions when I want to wear a sari, but just don't have the extended time it takes to put it on properly, so this is a godsend. It's what we call a "stitched sari" which effectively means that the front pleats have already been folded and stitched into place, so that the sari is literally pulled on like a skirt, leaving only the "pallau", the loose section that is literally thrown over the shoulder, to be wrapped and placed in position.

A sari should ALWAYS be worn with heels and jewellery, so I donned my favourite nude YSL Tributes, a delicate pair of earrings and matching necklace, picked up my purple satin Bottega Veneta clutch and off I went!
