The Skin: Benefit's Stay Don't Stray Primer

What's the bane of your life, in make-up terms? For so many, it's the fact that after arduous application, the make-up just 'slips' off the face, so that after even just a few hours into the day, it looks like you didn't even bother. Foundation that needs reapplication, concealer that disappears and eyeshadow that collects in the creases of the eyelid to give you a particularly attractive (not!) zebra-effect of colour on the eye. Bane of your life?

So I'm guessing anything that keeps make-up on for longer is going to be a hit. I never apply foundation without using a primer (I'll be doing a post on my favourite ones soon) but I've been quite lax about using one on and around my eyes, mostly for worry that I'll look like a panda with white circles around the peepers. Now Benefit's Stay Don't Stray Eyeshadow and Concealer Primer* comes in a slightly darker shade, just perfect for my skin tone, I'm made up, literally and metaphorically speaking! (Medium/Deep is the one that's right for me, in case you're wondering).

I've tried the "one eye on, one eye off" approach for a couple of days, and can honestly say, the eye that wore the primer underneath the concealer remained concealed all day, whereas the one without, was, well, without. And there's the added bonus of using the primer on the eyelid. In addition to eyeshadow staying in place all day, the colour you see in the pan is the colour you see on the eye. The primer neutralises any redness or other pigmentation, effectively presenting a blank canvas on which to start your work of art.

I'm a big fan of primers anyway for the myriad of benefits they offer (haha, no pun intended!) and now, with this eyelid and concealer primer, I can safely say, the "amazing disappearing concealer" is a magic trick that is no more!
