I normally return from holiday looking a little like Worzel Gummidge's long lost sister. Weeks of mediterranean sun, coupled with daily attacks of chlorinated water (I only ever swim on holiday, it seems) means that my hair comes back about six shades lighter and the texture of straw.
I kid you not. And blonde on an Indian girl is NOT a good look, in my book.
Last year, I thought I'd got it right. After my barnet having suffered terribly the year before, I made sure I wore a hat whenever I was out, and took hair masks with me to the pool to apply as soon as I'd rinsed the pool water out. But stupidly, the hat only covered the hair on the crown of my head. The mid-to-end lengths of my long hair still frazzled in the sun.
This year I went well prepared. I took the much-feted Swimcap by Philip Kingsley and I'm so glad I did. In fact, I won't go on holiday without it again. It did exactly what it says it will do, and my hair stayed soft and manageable, with hardly any frizz. It's applied onto damp hair and literally acts like you're wearing an invisible cap that protects your hair from the chlorine and the harmful and drying effects of the sun's rays.
I tend not to blowdry my hair on holiday. Firstly, it's far too hot, even with the AC blasting away, and secondly, I find my hair will be frizzy half way through the evening. Conversely, when I don't use any heated appliances on it, it behaves beautifully the whole evening.
I've been using Moroccan Oil for years, ever since it launched, and would never be without it on holiday, nor would my daughter, whose hair is so long she can sit on it!

My fav is kerestase elixir, makes my hair really soft and shiny, for some reason moroccon oil seemed to add frizz to my fairly straight hair, how odd!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I love Kerastase Elixir Ultime too, use it all the time, I'm on my second bottle! The only reason I didn't take it with me is that I wanted to try some new goodies out, but I've used it a few times since I got back!
DeleteI would check how you're using the Moroccan Oil, perhaps you need to used it in a different way?
