I may well be an online shopaholic, but the thrill of receiving a parcel or packet through the post never fails. So the arrival today of the latest GlossyBox, especially as the sun has made a rare guest appearance, has got me all sorts of excited!
For those of you who have been living on another planet, GlossyBox is a subscription-only beauty box that gets delivered to you, once a month, full of skincare and make-up goodies. Each month you'll get some full sized and some sample sized products, some of which you might never have heard of before, so it's a great way to try new products without shelling out loads of dosh. And if you discover something you think you can't live without, you can buy the full size products at a specially-organised GlossyBox discount (or sometimes you might get a little freebie with purchase), all because you're a GlossyBox subscriber.
This month's GlossyBox is a little bit special. To celebrate Earth Month, those lovely people at GlossyBox have called it The Natural Box and selected natural products. The solid box, a gorgeous wheaty-beige, is 100% biodegradable, and everything inside is natural, ethical and utterly gorgeous.
Perfectly wrapped as ever:
All sorts of goodies to discover:
And this is what was in my box:
Caudalie Vinosource SOS Thirst-Quenching Serum
A 10ml generous sample-sized tube of a super-hydrating serum, smelling beautifully of vibrant spring fields, ripe with lush green leaves just bursting with freshness. Easily absorbed and not at all sticky.
Figs and Rouge Lip Balm in Cherry and Vanilla
I was really excited to try this as my lips are crying out for some TLC. This multi-purpose balm is 100% natural and 100% organic. It just melts under the fingertips and leaves the lips super glossy. I'll also be using this on my cuticles, the back of my hands when they feel super dry, on my cheekbones for a little sheen, and I might even try it on the ends of my hair! The scent is very faint, but when you really inhale it in, you can genuinely smell the cherry and vanilla :)
YES! NURSE Protect Your Lovely Hands Hand Cream
I'm wasn't quite sure why this has a name that could be straight out of a Carry On movie, but that's what it is. So I did a little sleuthing and found out the range has been developed for busy nurses. So now we know.
Anyhow, it's packed full of lots of lovely ingredients such as Manuka Honey, Aloe Vera, Wheatgerm Oil and lots of other moisturising ingredients that all smell divine and leave your hands very soft, but not greasy. I'm a very happy bunny, as the overriding scent that lingers is the honey, which I LOVE!
Ayuuri Natural Body Wash in Sensual Indian Rose
The Ayuuri range uses the principles of Ayurveda and is based on fruit, plant and flower extracts. This body wash incorporates Indian Rose, Jasmine and Aloe Vera. But looking at the ingredients list, there are all sort of ingredients I can't pronounce and that don't necessarily sound particularly natural to me and of all the products in the box, it smells the least "natural" to me. I could be completely wrong and I need to do some more research into the ingredients. I'll report back once I've had a chance to use it properly.
Inika Organic Lip Liner in Safari
Given that we "eat" some stupid amount of lipstick every year (some estimates put it a pound of lipstick in a year - I think that's slightly excessive), it makes sense to go with organic lip products when you can. There's always the risk that you will get sent a hit-and-miss shade in a beauty box, but this little lipliner is spot on for me, and looks like it'll be my go-to liner here on in for a while. This is shade 01 Safari, a perfect match for my skin and will great with nude lipsticks. It's supersoft, yet firm and doesn't drag on the skin at all. Made of cold pressed plant waxes and oil mixed with natural mineral pigment, this feels "safe" to wear on the lips if ingesting your lippie worries you. The full size comes with a useful sharpener in the lid to keep it perfectly pointed at all times.
So there you have it, this month's beauty treasure box. Any of these take your fancy? Or do you think you'll be signing up for a GlossyBox to arrive on your doorstep every month?
I'm surprised that there's Ayuuri in the box, I love the brand but never thought anyone knew about it. Their sandalwood scrub is just divine, you should try it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Hafsa, I love sandalwood, so it sounds like a "must-try"!
