Faded Putty by nubar Nail Lacquer

This is my first encounter with nubar Nail Lacquer and I can certainly say it won't be my last.

I was sent this shade from the Polished Chic collection by the lovely nubar people when I was shortlisted for the Marie Claire Beauty Blogger of the Year Award, and in theory I was going to wear it to the award ceremony. The other shades are all gorgeous too - including a pastel green called Vogue Vert, Classic Camel and Mod Aqua, a pastel sea-blue.

Clockwise from top left:

For various reasons, that didn't happen, but I've worn it since and the effect has been amazing.  Out all the many colours, formulations and brands I've worn, this one has had the most comments and compliments!

It applies really well, (this is two coats sandwiched between base and top coats) and it lasted FOR AGES!  All of nubar's products are PETA certified, so they are vegan and cruelty free.  They are also formaldehyde, phthalate, toluene and carcinogen free, so they don't contain any of the nasties so often found in nail varnish.

It's really hard to photograph it accurately - it's called Faded Putty and that really is the best description for it.  It's totally opaque, almost off-white, but with a pinkish - lilac-ish tonality to it.  Hopefully you can see that in the various photos below.

(All photos taken without flash, in natural daylight).
