It's actually shinier in real life than it looks here, and slightly darker than it looks in the bottle in the photo |
Whilst looking for my perfect red lipstick ( the holy grail of lippies, as far as I'm concerned), I came across the two new nail colours for Spring from Dior and yup, I just HAD to have them!
First up is the super-glossy Forget-Me-Not. A deep, dusky lilac, it's not really purple or violet and it's certainly not as bright as I thought (and secretly hoped) it would be. Having said that, it's so wearable that I can see myself wearing this everyday without feeling too self conscious.

The colour you see in the photo on the right is closest to the actual colour |
This is the first time I've worn Dior polishes and it certainly won't be the last. The formulation is creamy and easy to apply and this is probably the best nail varnish brush I've ever used. Normally, I really have to concentrate to get the outline right, especially where the nail meets the cuticle, but with this brush, it's a doddle. The brush is shaped perfectly, so all you have to do is place it carefully where you want your polish to start and it fans out so beautifully that it almost covers the whole nail in one fell swoop.
And the polish is so very glossy! The shine on it today, one day later, is still as brilliant as it was when I applied yesterday. Almost looks likes Shellac!
Overall, I'm really impressed. The formulation, the application, the finish. All make for a very professional looking manicure.
The other colour is the very Springtime green called Waterlily. It's a beautiful fresh, lush green that also applied really well - two coats and you really are done (plus your base and top coat, of course)!
What do you think? Is the green too "Shrek" for you? (Not my words, this from a comment I received on Twitter when I tweeted a photo of it on my nails).
Will you be getting one of these shades?
