If you've read previous posts, you'll know that eye creams and eye serums have long held me in a state of total confusion and, dare I say it, a little scared. Scared, that is, of adverse skin reactions that have left me, in the past, with almost debilitating allergic reactions that have me alternatively running for homeopathic remedies and hiding out at home until the skin has recovered.
So I was extremely grateful, and a little wary, when I was sent the Elemis Eye Serum to help me out of my woes. Now, I know, love and trust Elemis skincare, but anything that comes into contact with the extra-delicate skin around my eyes has to be approached with extreme caution, given my experience.
Result?
I love it, haven't travelled without it since I started using it, and wouldn't be without it now.
It's very light, just a serum should be. It feels almost as light as water, so there's no heavy product going into the thinner skin around the eye, and with absolutely no fragrance whatsoever, I was rightly confident that I wouldn't suffer from an allergic reaction. No greasiness, it doesn't 'sit' atop my skin, so it's easy to apply make-up over it and it's very refreshing.
I use it day and night, and really think I can see a difference in the fine lines directly below my eyes. It feels super gentle, but super powerful. It's also super easy to dispense, with pipette delivery. One small drop is enough for both eyes, so it lasts for ages. What's not to like?
Occasionally, I'll use an eye cream at night when I feel I need a little more moisture, but I'm pretty sure that's all in my head, as I've never felt like the serum has left my skin feeling dry or dehydrated. On the contrary, the eye area feels refreshed and hydrated all day long when I use the serum. I've even been known to pat a little of the serum on during the day (over make-up) when I've felt I needed a little pick-me-up.
* this was a PR sample, but as soon as it runs out, I'll be heading down to my closest Elemis stockist and replenishing, in fact, I'll buy two - one for home and one for my make-up bag!
I really like Clarin's "special" eye contour balm, it's nice if you have super dry skin (me) especially under your eyes (:
ReplyDeleteLoved that too...... not sure why I ever stopped using it!
ReplyDeleteWill keep it in mind, always good to have options!
I was also confused at first. Especially when ti comes to the results. Since one eye serum could satisfy or give you 2 results that you are aiming. But then you also need the other product in some terms you need to accomplish.
ReplyDeletei am a user of eye serum and its very effective
ReplyDeleteI have recently started using Elemis eye serum and have been amazed at the results, I suffer from dark rings and bags under my eyes. These have all but disappeared thanks to Elemis, I highly recommend.
