Ojon Restorative Lash Treatment & Mascara

It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of the Ojon products for hair.  The Restorative Treatment transformed my hair from dry and brittle to lustrous, soft and shiny and more like actual hair than the birds' nest I was carrying on around on my head.  So you can imagine how excited I was to be asked to try out the newest product to be launched by Ojon, the Restorative Lash Treatment & Mascara.  Those lovely people at Ojon obviously know a thing or two about the science behind hair and how to improve its texture and health, so if this newbie could do for my lashes what Ojon's products have done for my hair, I knew I'd be one very happy little make-up addict.

The product is dual-ended, with the nourishing Restorative Treatment housed at one end, applied with a big fat mascara brush, which coats the lashes with the creamy white Ojon treatment that penetrates the lashes to help nurture and volumise.  I don't think it's meant as a lengthening pre-colour layer, more a nourishing treatment, but somehow,  it manages to add to the lengthening and volumising.  The mascara at the other end is applied with a very thin brush, which somehow manages to reach each and every long and little lash, right into the inner and outer corners of the eye.  The mascara is currently only available in black, but oh, what a black! It's a really, really intense black, the kind of black you get from kajal or kohl. Fabulous!

My eyes and the surrounding area are my most sensitive area when it comes to make-up, but this mascara was absolutely fine - no watery eyes, no itching, no flaking.

Now I love my mascaras, and I literally have a wardrobe to choose from, depening on where I'm going and what effect I'm trying to acheive.  My "mascara wardrobe" is full of big names, designer labels and high streets brands, including Givenchy, Chanel, Dior, L'Oreal, YSL, Maybelline, Max Factor.... Yes, I know, I'm obsessed!  Recently I've been loving the Flawless Definition Mascara by Bare Escentuals, but I have to say, this one has pushed all the others out of the picture, for now.

I wore it recently to to a Beauty Press Event, and was asked by more than one beauty professional if I was wearing lash extensions.  Now, I know I am lucky to have naturally rather long eyelashes, but with this mascara, my eyelashes almost hit my eyebrows when I open my eyes (my doe-eyed, wide-eyed look!), and it really does look like I'm wearing extensions.  And I've lost count of the number of friends who've commented on my eyelashes since I've been wearing it.  Wearing it out with a deep, smokey eye for a night out, it really held it's own, and I didn't even wear two coats.  Just imagine the intensity and length you could achieve with a second coat of the mascara!

Sorry about the quality of the photo - taken in very poor lighting!
Eye make-up from Molten Metals by FrontCover Cosmetics - blog post on that to come

And it could be wishful thinking, but I really think there have been less lashes on the cotton wool when cleansing and removing the eye make-up since using the Ojon lash treatment and mascara.

What do you think? Can you be bothered with the two-step process? Would you use a hair-care brand on your eyes?
